After 28 years of being “cured,” I had a neoplasm of thyroid cancer in 2001. I had neck surgery in June, followed within two days by a liver biopsy (unrelated to the thyroid cancer), then I-131 chemotherapy (a treatment that surprisingly hadn’t changed in 28 years!).

Last year I was diagnosed with breast cancer and in March my left breast was removed. I went in on Friday sent home on Saturday feeling not well. Two days later I was back in the hospital with blisters all over my wounded area.I was there for over a week. They told me it was shingles but the tests came back negitive. To this day I believe it was a staph infection.
