I was a pre-med student at the University here, inspired to change careers following a spinal fusion surgery. Although I was permanently impaired, I did quite well in my undergraduate studies. I graduated magna cum laude in two BA programs-psychology & sociology, while completing my pre-med courses. I was able to obtain very expensive, substandard HMO-like care through the school.
